September 2010

President Andy Horvath opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Shirley Armstrong read the Treasurer report and it was approved. 

Charles Thames name was drawn for the 50/50 drawing; congratulations Charles.   There was not a membership drawing last month.     

A huge thank you goes to our speaker from the August meeting; Robert “Bob” Klostermeier.  Bob is the 1^st Vice Commander Department of Ohio American Legion.  He also has been a proud member of the American Legion Adams Township Post 553 for 37 years.  Bob talked about his experiences, benefits and what is available for veterans through the American Legion. Thank you to all that were in attendance. 

The speaker for September will be Larry Michael; volunteer to speak about the Civil War.  We are looking forward to meeting Mr. Michael and listen to his stories. 

We had a great turnout for last month’s meeting.  It was great to see everyone there!  Let’s hope we can continue that kind of turnout for months to come.  We would love to see some new faces and some that we haven’t seen in awhile.  If you know of anyone who would like to attend but has difficulty with transportation, ask around to see if there could be any car pooling. 

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.  Our meetings are very informative, interesting and fun.  Please come out & join us; it is a great way to socialize, catch up with old friends and meet new ones!
